Our latest art project was to make laptop stands. For mine I decided to make a case I could carry my laptop in. We cut out the pieces for our laptop stands on the CNC rooter at school. Then I glued the main part together with wood glue. I used hinges to attach the lid and the cactus's on the sides. They flip up to support the lid and create a laptop stand. I had to drill the holes for the screws before I put the screws in so they didn't split the wood. My dad helped me find a handle and latches and attach them to the laptop stand. The swirls on the handle kind of look like vines, which I thought matched the cactus's. I painted the case in different shades of green to match the nature theme. Then I covered it in polyurethane.
